Welcome to Guiding Behavior's Web Space
- Need To Know
- Much of the content is presented in video clips. The "Need to Know" page describes the software needed to watch these video clips as well as other technical necessities for using this web site to its fullest. It is recommended that everyone read the "Need to Know" page closely before moving on to the content pages. For example, clicking on the video camera icon
will start a video clip that will further illuminate a concept.
- Introduction
- The Guiding Behavior web content has three modules: Teach More / Punish Less; Managing Environments & Transitions; and Positive Guidance. A Forum or message board is also available for people to further discuss issues related to guiding behavior. The "Introduction page" describes in more detail each module and the overall framework of this learning space.
- Glossary
- Are you wondering what a particular word or phrase means? The glossary will give a short definition to help out. Within the content pages, words will be linked directly into the glossary.
- Acknowledgements
- The content experts, who are also found in the video clips, and the people involved in the development of this web site are recognized for their work on the "Acknowledgements" page.
- Site Map
- Lost? Looking for a particular page and cannot find it? The "Site Map" provides a complete listing of all web pages on this site.
The Guiding Behavior Web Space is designed to either complement the Rise Winning Teams video-series on guiding the behavior of young children, or to be used alone. The series is based on the premise that in the critical first five years of life, children need a great deal of guidance from adults - they are not born knowing how to behave appropriately!
