Action Plan for Year 2 (2000-2001)
September 1, 2000 - August 31, 2001


Goal 1 - Share transition information about THE Consortium project to CORSP new contact person
Activities

  • Agency contact person will meet with new agency contact to share grant information about year one action plan and to write new action plan

    Evaluation: Submit year two action plan

Goal 2 - Review budget for past and upcoming year
Activities

  • CORSP agency contact will arrange meeting with agency computer technician and fiscal office to review budget from year one and to make revisions for year two

    Timeline: 8-9/00
    Evaluation: Submit budget revision

Goal 3 - Review new children's software
Activities

  • At Head Teacher training agency computer technician will provide an introduction to the new children's software that every classroom will use

    Evaluation: Observation of new software being used in classrooms

Goal 4 - New Head Start Teacher and Teaching Assistants will be trained in Galileo

  • CORSP computer technician will provide Galileo training to new Head Teachers and Teaching Assistants

Goal 5 - A Galileo review will be offered

  • A Galileo review training will provide Galileo training to new and seasoned Head Teachers and Teaching Assistants

Goal 6 - Meet with COL support group to review year one and preview year two action plan
Activities

  • CORSP agency contact will notify COL members of upcoming meeting place and time

    Evaluation: Approval of second year action plan

Goal 7 - Administrative staff will be introduced to technology in use of Microsoft Word, Windows 98, keyboarding, Internet
Activities

  • CORSP computer technician will provide training to Head Start Area Coordinators and Managers

    Timeline: 9/15/00 (rescheduled from 8/4/00)

Goal 8 - Contact COL's two- and four-year partners about contract for year two participation
Activities

  • Agency contact will contact two- and four-year partners about defining roles and formulating contracts for year two of project

Goal 9 - Assessment of computer need to upgrade system
Activities

  • Purchase appropriate hardware/software to add options to classroom computers

Goal 10 - Train staff on use of new computer equipment available in classrooms
Activities

  • Agency computer technician will provide training to staff on the use of new computer equipment available in the classroom

Goal 11 - Evaluate interest and need for other training options
Activities

  • CORSP agency contact will arrange meeting with ABLE program, Technology Center and agency computer technician to evaluate success of past computer classes through both providers

    Evaluation: Meeting held

Goal 12 - Schedule additional computer classes for parents and other agency staff
Activities

  • CORSP agency contact will arrange meeting with ABLE program, Technology Center and agency computer technician to schedule computer classes for parents and other agency staff throughout

    Timeline: 11-12/00 and ongoing as needed
    Evaluation: Training/classes scheduled

Goal 13 - Interested teaching staff will be offered the Internet/MSWord class through Edison Community College
Activities

  • CORSP computer technician will provide training to Head Teachers, Teaching Assistants and Home Visitors for credit through Edison Community College

    Timeline: Spring 2001, one time per week
    Evaluation: Attendance roster and evaluations

Goal 14 - Staff will have computer access to practice new skills
Activities

  • The agency computer lab in Miami County is available throughout the work day for staff to use to practice new skills

    Lead Person: Penny Welbaum, Letha Young
    Timeline: September 2000, ongoing
    Evaluation: Sign-in sheet for computer use

Goal 15 - To develop a Community of Learners with CORSP
Activities

  • Opportunities for training and college level coursework are available that support the Community of Learners concept. Presently we are focusing on the infant/todler CDA process. This process may lead to computer classes

    Lead Person: Jeanne Poeppelman, Education Manager
    Timeline: September 2000, ongoing
    Evaluation: Review requests for CDA related classes (college level)
