Action Plan for Year 2 (2000-2001)

Goal 1 - Develop Technology Plan
Activities

  1. Use inventory of agency computer related equipment.

    Lead Person: Joe Burgess, Basil Weinman, Peggy Miller
    Timeline: 10-30-00
    Evaluation: The plan will be ready for implementation.

  2. Assess the needs for each site

    Lead Person: Joe Burgess, Basil Weinman, Peggy Miller
    Timeline: 02-30-01
    Evaluation: The assessment will be documented as checklist for each site. 

  3. Hire outside consultant to develop the plan

    Lead Person: Joe Burgess, Basil Weinman, Peggy Miller

    Evaluation:
    The written plan will be at least completed 50%.

Goal 2 - Increase Internet Access and email accounts for all staff that need them
Activity

  1. Educate staff about locations for internet access. Educate staff regarding email account

    Timeline: 9-18-00
    Evaluation: Summary of the assessment and survey. Number of staff that set up new email account.

  2. Assess the number of cohorts who currently have email accounts and reassess every six months.

    Evaluation: Summary of the assessment and survey. Number of cohorts that use internet and/or email as part of their course work.
  3. Survey cohorts regarding use of computers for course work. Develop and administer survey after completion of each course.

Goal 3 - Increase comfort level of computer usage for the staff
Activity

  1. Training for classroom staff to use software (Galileo) to track students.

    Lead Person: Diane Yeadon, Teresa Collins
    Timeline: Training at 08-21-2000, fully implementation by 09-30-20001
    Evaluation: Staff training documentation form. Each site will be using Galileo to track children.
  2. Three level computer training.

    Lead Person: Patty Overpeck
    Timeline: 09-30-20001
    Evaluation: Training documentation.

Goal 4 - Increasing regular communication between identified partners
Activities

  1. Schedule regular contacts with identified partners.

    Lead Person: Diane Yeadon
    Timeline: At least one time per quarter
    Evaluation: Notes, summaries or minutes from the meeting. Will report on the monthly feedback form.

Goal 5 - Explore the proposal from Ball State University regarding higher education collaboration with Head Start
Activities

  1. Attend meetings, follow up with correspondence, etc

    Lead Person: Diane Yeadon
    Evaluation: Progress will be reported on the monthly feedback form.
