THE Consortium’s Highlight of the Month!
THE Consortium 2002 Conference
| The highlight for the month of April is our conference, entitled "At THE Crossroads: Envisioning Your Future." On February 27, 28, and March 1, THE staff hosted a final conference for our COLs. Despite the snowy weather, the conference was well attended by the agencies, their faculty partners, and Consortium partners.

The COL activities, which were presented by each COL, reflected how COLs have implemented technology and were informative, creative, and fun. Activities ranged from original videos to game shows to skits and included such themes as "Survivor," "You've Come a Long Way, Baby," "Snow Bright," and "The Floydstones." More cool pictures were collected in this overview of the COL activities (MS PowerPoint File).

A visioning activity was another component of the conference. During visioning sessions, COL were asked to begin to envision their future in terms of how they might sustain the momentum they have generated in the project. Many of the COLs have indicated that the visioning activity was beneficial in that it helped them consider ways to continue to implement technology into their agency and their teachers' professional development.

The conference culminated in a preview of a promotional video made about the project by RISE Learning Solutions. [THE video produced by RISE will be online soon.] Finally, in her closing remarks, Dr. Donna Evans, Dean of the College of Education at OSU, complimented the COLs on their accomplishments and the collaborative spirit they have adopted as participants in the project.
